La Gaîté Lyrique
Welcome to La Gaîté Lyrique, a museum with exhibits tailored to all ages, combining the arts and technology to provide visitors a chance to discover and learn about the modernizing world of communication and arts as effected by digital innovations.
I took the time to peruse the museum's exhibits which include video game consoles, music playlists and art books, and often hosts musicians for concerts. Afterward, I stopped by the bar which is overlooked by a Molière portrait and mixes modern decor with the former theater's classic design. I had some tea and a cake, which was really great!! The museum is definitely worth a trip for anyone interested in the digital era that our society is heading into, or for those just looking for a cool place to have a drink.

Shourouk in Gioia: Perfect for Summer
Hope you have had a chance to pick up the latest issue of Gioia, but for those of you who haven't, we have a few highlights here...
The Italian fashion magazine recently did a shoot on some of the hottest looks for summer, featuring two of our pieces. We love how nicely they go with the beachwear in Gioia's shoot, showing how versatile they really are. From a day at the beach to a night on the town, the Rita Cadillac and the Gigi are the perfect summer accessory!

Le Schmuck
My friend Phi Diem always knows the latest places to be from Paris to New York. Whether it is a great new restaurant or a hidden vintage shop, Phi Diem knows about it. So when she told me about a new restaurant in Odéon, I knew I had to try it.
Le Schmuck was created by comedian Gilles Lellouche and friends Romain Dian, Antoine de Tavernost and Hugo Selignac with a nightclub of the same name near the Champs Elysées on Rue de Ponthieu.
Le Schmuck in Odéon was designed by Laura Gonzalez, with its interior aiming to give each diner the opportunity to find their niche with a unique table setting featuring different mirrors, vintage photos, tapestries and wallpapers prints to reflect the mood of that place setting. In September, Le Schmuck will become a club after midnight, while remaining a restaurant during the day.
I had beef and girolles with a brioche as a pain perdu for dessert, which was super f***ing really good! There is also a tearoom within the restaurant, so you can enjoy all their desserts at any time of day.

Flower Profusion Interview with France de Griessen
France, what are you working on at the moment?
I recently finished my album, “Electric Ballerina” which is set for its digital release on July 4th and will be available in stores September 26th. The album is a metaphor for the life of an artist trying to find a balance.
Why did you choose this florist?
I chose this florist because they have the most beautiful roses. I love their irregularity and refined colors. I also do a lot of watercolor painting so I really relate to the poetry of colors.
What is the least punk thing you have done lately?
I love watching old aerobics videos on Youtube.
What is the first CD you bought?
I bought the New York Dolls album because I liked the cover of the album. I loved punk glam records with the guys wearing makeup and the extravagant outfits.
When you were a teenager, you confess to having looked at…
Photos of Diane Arbus and Larry Clark
Can you tell us about your meeting with Bruce LaBruce?
I loved working with Bruce LaBruce, and I love his work. We had an epistolary contact and I ended up sending him a copy of my album. He liked my music and several months later asked if he could use one of my songs for his movie trailer. Later, I met him in Berlin to do the music video for my song “I Want to be You" produced by Le Chat Qui Fume.
Why did you choose to collaborate with him?
He has a predilection for romance and trash and is a master of colors. He is a longtime Hollywood director of dreamlike and trash films who has no equivalent.
What is one song you are ashamed to admit to having on your iPod?
What is your story with cats? The focus for your next project?
I have two cats. The animal represents us well with their instincts. My watercolor paintings are a bit like my emotional journal. I don’t eat animals though.
So you have a tattoo fetish. Which of your tattoos is your favorite?
My garter tattoo. The passion of playing music is very sensual. I wanted to choose a symbol and raise the sensuality to sexuality.
I am in the process of making bracelets with words on them, any suggestions? Freedom
Which song do you want to put with your interview?
The music video by Bruce.

Flower Profusion with France de Griessen
France de Griessen is a true artist. I met her through Naco, who I also did an interview with. Her knack for making creativity seem effortless and she has an undeniable passion for music, which showed during my interview with her at Le Lutetia. The accomplished singer has worked with renowned film director Bruce LaBruce and enjoys spending time watercoloring when she isn't busy rocking out. Before our interview, we stopped by her florist of choice, Rosa Luna, to take some photos.
Check back for the interview tomorrow!
